MEOK AI LABS — EU AI Act Compliance
We welcome the EU AI Act. It formalises what the Maternal Covenant has always demanded: that AI systems must be safe, transparent, and accountable to the humans they serve.
Is MEOK AI compliant with the EU AI Act?
Yes. MEOK's core companion system is classified as Limited Risk under Article 52 — conversational AI requiring user disclosure. Our Guardian child safety features are classified as High Risk under Annex III and are currently in DPIA review. They will not be activated until all compliance requirements are met.
What is a High Risk AI system under the EU AI Act?
Systems listed in Annex III that affect safety, education, employment, or access to essential services. MEOK's Guardian child-monitoring features are being assessed under this classification. No High Risk features will launch without completing DPIA and conformity assessment.

Our Compliance Commitments
We always disclose AI
Every MEOK interface carries a visible "AI companion" disclosure. Users always know they are talking to AI. This is required by Article 52 and we support it unconditionally.
No biometric processing
MEOK never processes biometric data. No facial recognition, no voice biometrics, no emotional state inference from physiological data.
Human oversight guaranteed
The Byzantine Council multi-agent consensus means no single AI makes unilateral decisions. Guardian alerts route to human review before family notification.
Right to explanation
Users can request why any response was generated. Audit logs available for Guardian decisions. Memory vault contents visible and exportable at any time.
⚠ DPIA in Progress — Guardian Child Safety
MEOK's Guardian child monitoring features require a Data Protection Impact Assessment under UK GDPR Article 35 and EU AI Act conformity assessment under Annex VI. These features are not currently active for any user. They will be activated only after DPIA completion and ICO notification. Target: Q3 2026.
